Michael Ehret

Director of Business Development, ASELL

Mr. Ehret has nearly 30 years of leadership, operations management, and business development experience across all aspects of science and technology operations with a focus in Global Health and National Security.  As ASELL’s Director of Business Development, he is responsible for driving strategies for growth and diversification primarily through federally funded programs delivering new technologies that strengthen health security and emergency preparedness.

Prior to joining ASELL, Mr. Ehret held executive positions leading and growing contract research organizations supporting federal and commercial clients.   As Senior Vice President and Director of Research Operations at MRIGlobal, Mr. Ehret directed the technical and financial performance of the technical enterprise, overseeing a ~$90M portfolio of technology development and deployment programs.  During his nearly 16-year history at MRIGlobal, his contributions led directly to a nearly threefold increase in revenues. He spearheaded the development of and then led MRIGlobal’s operations in the National Capitol Region following 9/11, a presence that received Congressional recognition for elevating national security.   Previously, Mr. Ehret was the Director of Biosciences at Brevard Teaching and Research Laboratory where he managed life science operations.   Under his leadership, revenues grew more than 300% through technical and client diversification, expanding from providing niche regional environmental support to receiving national recognition in microbial forensics.  This success ultimately led to an acquisition by MRIGlobal.  As Chief of Staff at ICON Government and Public Health Solutions, he provided leadership to Quality and Compliance, Human Resources, and Information Technology functions during the transition following acquisition.

Mr. Ehret earned a B.S. in Marine Science – Biology from Long Island University prior to doctoral studies of biomarkers of environmental exposure at Old Dominion University.
