Economic Development Specialist, Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation
Robel joined Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) in 2017 with the goal of working on entrepreneurship ecosystem initiatives within a dynamic new economic development organization. Having previously worked on innovation projects for the Montgomery County government, Robel has worked on projects that usually fall within the intersection of both the public and private markets – often serving as the convener of stakeholders from both sides. At MCEDC, Robel has worked with various start-ups as they begin to explore Montgomery County for assistance on seed funding, office locations, incubator access, grant programs and partnerships with larger more established technology companies within the region. He sees his role as an ecosystem navigator and convenor that leverages relationships with VC’s, state institutions, local resource partners, and the like to make sure entrepreneurship thrives in Montgomery County and the region.
Robel received his Bachelors from University of Maryland. He enjoys staying active and generally trying to be the first to eat at the never-ending slew of new restaurants within the DMV area.
